HEAVENLY TREASURES IS NOT SOLD YET AND WE ARE NOT CLOSING. I have had so many people call or tell me my store is sold. I even had one fabric rep call and want to come meet the new owner. I’m still here and no buyer has any agreement with me at this time. I’m still praying for the right people to come in and work with me to sell but please help me stop the rumors that aren’t true. I said I would give it until August, 2018 and I hope to be able to find a buyer by that time. Meanwhile, you will just have to put up with me. We continue to get new fabrics in (part of my disease) and operate as usual. I am still quilting on my pc quilter but am trying to get an extra day or two off each week this summer since I have such good summer help.
“POSTCARDS FROM NEBRASKA” SHOP HOP FOR 2018. The month long shop hop was a big success so next year we will extend to include 4 weekends again. It will be from March 1 to March 24, 2018. We are getting the fabric designed and projects worked out. Put it on your calendar and plan your excursion. Maybe we’ll even add a few more shops!
FIFTH SATURDAY SALE – The next fifth Saturday sale is July 29 to use your 2017 bag for the 20% discount. Bring your card from the 2016 Run for the Border or your 2017 Nebraska shop hop bag in that day for 20% off anything in our store. Even the sale room items are 20% off the sale prices if you have your bag or card with you. We are open our regular hours 10am to 3pm that day. Before you get your next newsletter there will be a 5th Saturday sale on September 30, 2017 also. Make up those projects from your purchases in July and come back and get the bargain 20% off for your finishing needs in September.
QUILT CLUB - We started a new quilt top called Bright Hopes Sampler. This has 17 different blocks so will take us a year and a half to complete the project. I’m so excited that we have 15 people having fun with this. The fee of $15 covers all of the instructions that you receive when you come to the monthly meetings. Stop in and pick up a picture and sign up to join us. We meet the second Wednesday of each month at 1:30pm. You may use whatever fabric you would like to make yours unique. We have something to eat and show and tell each month. We also share a lot of ideas and get advice from each other. It is a very fun group and we would love to have you join us for this new project. If you want to follow the pattern it uses 5 different fabrics but you are welcome to use your stash and make it scrappy as well. You don’t have to attend every month but it’s a lot of fun if you do! It’s not too late to join us and catch up easily.
NEW AIRLITE BATTING – We now have a thin cotton but strong batting by the yard from Airlite. It comes 93” wide or 122” wide and is very reasonably priced and you can get just the yardage you need. Come in and check it out.
NEW FABRICS AND DISPLAYS – We are continuing to get new fabrics in and making new samples to hang up to inspire you. We got some neutral batiks in last week and have a great sunflower panel fabric with coordinating polka dots to make placemats with earlier. We have four new coordinating Christmas prints with squares of gingerbread houses to a great new holiday project. Yesterday we received all different colors of little rick rac prints and mini dots from Quilting Treasures. Some things I have ordered won’t come until November. It just always seems like Christmas around here since by the time it comes you forget what you ordered. What fun!
NEW PATTERNS: We got a couple of new twister patterns in. Sarah has made the sample of the owl that is just darling. Whooooooo doesn’t like an owl? Betsy is working on the snowman.
QUILTS FOR AREA VETERANS:: We have many customers that have joined us in making quilts for the veterans in Pawnee County. Joan Luctavish got together a group of ladies that have worked diligently making quilt tops, quilting, labeling, donating funds for batting and just encouraging others to provide quilts for our beloved area veterans. Many were presented the week of Memorial Day for World War II Veterans. If you know of Pawnee County veterans of the Korean , Vietnam, Persian Gulf or Afganistan conflicts we are looking for names to keep this project going. If you want to make a red, white and blue quilt for this project you can get the recommended size and always drop it off at Heavenly Treasures and Joan will make a label to put on it about the makers and it will find a very deserved home. These people have been so grateful for these gifts and the honor it shows them. It just makes us want to make more to honor more.
SALES: Our July sale will run from the 10th to the 15th and we will have all of our bolted pink fabrics 40% off. From August 7th to the 12th we will have all of our bolted polka dots on sale 40% off. We have all sizes and so many colors. Nothing like some dots to brighten up a quilt! This is the Pawnee Fair week so you might want to check out the quilt entries at the fair later in that week. Make sure we have your email address so we can include you on the sale we offer quarterly to our email customers, too.
Heavenly Treasures will be closed July 4 and September 4 for the holidays.
